Benovia Chards Rate High with California Connoisseurs' Guide
92 Points | La Pommeraie Russian River Valley Chardonnay
2007
"If a touch tight and less outgoing in the nose, this bottling is
limited only by youth, and, however reticent, it still manages to
convey a sense of refinement and depth that is confirmed by its
precise, slightly layered flavors of apples, sweet cream and toast.
Slightly supple feel and moderately full-bodied, it firms as it
crosses the palate and closes with a long, cleansing, keenly fruity
finish that bodes well for as many as three to four years of
further improvement."
91 Points | Russian River Valley Chardonnay 2007
"Sharing the same sense of firmness and fruity vitality that makes
the winery's La Pommeraie bottling, this lightly citrusy wine is
biased to green-apples with a trim veneer of sweet oak lending a
bit of richness. Crisp and clean and insistent with a lengthy,
well-fruited finish, it will serve nicely in the near-term with
fish filets napped in cream sauce, but promises to gain in
complexity for several years."
