Wine & Spirits Awards Savoy Pinot Noir 92 Points
92 Points | 2009 Benovia Savoy Vineyards Pinot
Noir
"From a famed vineyard northwest of Philo, a protected, relatively
warm site in the cool end of the Anderson Valley, this wine is
powerful when first opened and hard to approach. With a day of air,
the perfumed cherry and oak scents meld into earthiness, still
potent but now more mineral than bluntly oaked. With another day,
the fruit reveals floral and spice notes, deep and cool, with the
fat of a ripe cherry. A complex wine, this requires bottle age and
should reward six to eight years in the cellar."
