Robert Parker Reviews the 2006 Benovia Wines
91 Points | 2006 La Pommeraie Chardonnay
"Offers up sumptuous notes of tropical fruits (primarily
pineapples) interwoven with nectarine and orange marmalade
characteristics, fresh acidity, and a medium to full bodied, nicely
textured mouthfeel. This is a delicious Chardonnay from a
relatively challenging vintage in the Russian River."
90 Points | 2006 Pinot Noir, Savoy Vineyard
"A stunning effort, the 2006 Pinot Noir Savoy Vineyard reveals
classic notes of blueberries and blackberries along with a hint of
Asian black tea. Deep and medium to full-bodied with beautiful
fruit, a lovely texture, and elegant, sweet tannins, this excellent
Pinot can be consumed over the next 4-5 years."
90 Points | 2006 Pinot Noir, Bella Una®
"The medium-bodied 2006 Pinot Noir Bella Una offers abundant
spice, forest floor, underbrush, and black cherry aromas as well as
a deep, rich fruit, good sweetness, and a long finish. This is a
promising, impressive 2006 Pinot Noir."
88 Points | 2006 Pinot Noir, Sonoma Coast
"Made from a selection of California Heirloom clones as well as
the newer Dijon clones. Exhibits aromas of sweet black cherries,
damp earth, underbrush, and spice. Medium-bodied with crisp acidity
as well as a round, generous mouthfeel, it should be consumed over
the next several years."
88 Points | 2006 Pinot Noir, Cohn Vineyard
"Possesses more tannin and structure as well as that noticeable
earthiness that is prominent in this vintage of Russian
River/Sonoma County Pinot Noirs. It's dark ruby/purple hues is
followed by notes of black cherries, black raspberries, and a damp
earth as well as gritty tannins in the finish. Should age nicely
for another 3-4 years."
88 Points | 2006 Zinfandel, Cohn Vineyard
"A big, peppery, ruby/purple-tinged effort displaying plenty of
licorice and garrigue notes, full-bodied flavors, and beautiful
purity and depth. Consume it over the next 3-4 years."
