2008s Rate in the 90s with The Sonoma Wine Journal
93+ Points | 2008 La Pommeraie Pinot Noir
"Benovia Winery La Pommeraie Russian River Valley Pinot Noir
2008: Dark ruby robe. Exuberant black cherry aromas and
flavors, with a sappy core of fruit that is deeply layered and
rich. A touch of cinnamon and black raspberry come through on
the long finish. Sourced from the famous Zio Tony Vineyard
that is owned and farmed by the Martinelli family, the grapes in
this bottling are a combination of Dijon clones 828 and 777.
Drink now - 2014."
93 Points | 2008 La Pommeraie
Chardonnay
"Benovia Winery La Pommeraie Russian River Valley Chardonnay
2008: Bright yellow with a brassy sparkle. Aromas of
pineapple, Meyer lemon, and caramel lead to deliciously integrated
flavors of poached pear, lemon oil, and a hint of French oak.
A ripe and concentrated wine that epitomizes the vibrancy that
Russian River Valley Chardonnay can achieve when it is planted and
farmed with an eye towards quality. In a word: awesome.
Drink now - 2014."
